Participant Members and Viewing Members
Those who have their profiles posted on this site are designated as Participant Members. Those who do not have their profiles posted on this site are designated as Viewing Members.
Rules for Participant Members Only
Profile requirements
Complete your profile to let us know something about you. You must list your real first name or a nickname you generally go by. You may, but are not required, to list your real last name.
Photos
You must submit at least 6 different photos (no duplicates), but no more than 12. If your photos appear to be fake or are of poor quality you will be denied. At least 2 of the photos must be head shots and at least one photo must be a tasteful full body shot in a swimsuit or similar apparel. Click PHOTO REQUIREMENTS AND IMAGE EDITING TIPS for specific requirements. Pornographic photos and photos of poor taste are expressly prohibited. Focus9 reserves the right to reject any photos or membership applications for any reasons it deems appropriate.
Minimum Age
There is no maximum age, but we do require that you be at least 21. (See our frequently asked questions).
Prior Experience as a Model
Prior modeling experience is helpful, but it is not a requirement.
Image Requirements
Inasmuch as you may be asked to make personal appearances on behalf of Arista, your overall appearance and demeanor are important.

No Offensive comments or remarks
Each of the Participant Members may receive messages through this site. Participant Members will be expected to have “reasonably thick skin;” however, if you should threaten or harass any Participant Member in any way you will be banned from this site. Nor will vulgar language be tolerated.
Not a dating site
The Participant Members may have several reasons for joining this site, such as: cash prize, free piece of jewelry, exposure as a model or simply for bragging rights (Yes, I’m clearly a 9!
) However, it’s doubtful that any of the women on this site joined because they are in dire need of a date! So, please keep that in mind should you contemplate contacting them for anything other than a business related reason.
Private information
Participant Members are specifically cautioned about posting any private information in their profile. (i.e. last name, phone numbers, home address, etc.) If you should post such information or give it to any individual who might wish to contact you please understand that you do so at your own risk. Focus9 assumes no responsibility for improper use of your photos and/or any information posted by you on Focus9.
Legal Considerations
First, we require that Participant Members observe all copyright laws. Your photos are yours to do with as you please unless you are prohibited from doing so by contract. Second, we expect all members (participant members and viewing members) to respect and to abide by all federal, state and local laws in all postings (Participant’s profile) and communications made through this site. Site management will look into any reported abuses and attempt to take appropriate action. However, Focus9 accepts no responsibility other than banning a violator of site rules.
No Avatars
Avatars are expressly prohibited.
Voting
Viewing Members and Participant Members are permitted to vote for the Participant Member(s) of their choice. The specific rules for voting are set forth under the heading “Internet Voting” in the Contest Rules. Any member who attempts to circumvent the rules may be banned from this site.
Participant Profiles
It is the sole responsibility of the participant members to occasionally check their profile to insure that the information contained therein is current and accurate.
Right to Change Rules
focus9.com retains the right to change any rule posted herein at anytime without advance warning or notice.
Contest Rules
Eligibility
You do not have to be a legal resident of the United States in order to be a Participant Member. However, Participant Members living outside the U.S. will not be awarded a free piece of Arista jewelry unless they designate a legal resident of the U.S. to receive it on their behalf. Also, Participant Members who are not legal residents of the U.S. will be eliminated from the group of finalists if they are unable to secure a visa to visit the U.S. at the scheduled time of the photo shoot. Focus9 will be pleased to write a letter of invitation on behalf of any non-resident finalist in order to assist them in obtaining the necessary travel visa.
You will not be eligible to receive any cash or jewelry award if you are (a) employed by Focus9 or Arista or by any of their affiliates, subsidiaries, participating vendors, advertising, promotion agencies, or anyone working directly on Focus9’s and/or Arista’s products and promotions. (hereinafter “Excluded Parties”) or (b) are an immediate family member of the above “Excluded Parties”
Start and End Dates
Focus9’s model search for 2010 will commence on October 1, 2008 and will end on July 1, 2010 (Central Standard Time). Any Participant Members who join after that time will not be considered a contestant for the 2010 model search, but such contestant will be eligible for Focus9’s 2011 and later model search contests.
Automatic semi-finalist
The winner of Focus9’s 2010 model search contest will automatically become a semi-finalist for it’s 2011 model search contest. It is contemplated, but not guaranteed, that this same rule will apply to future Focus9 model searches.
Profile Posting Requirements
The profiles posted on this site must not, in our sole and absolute discretion, contain any of the following:(a) any sexually explicit references (b) any statement which might be deemed unnecessarily violent or derogatory of any ethnic, racial, gender, religious or age group;(c) any language which might be deemed obscene, offensive or promoting a political or social agenda; (d) any statement which defames, misrepresents or contains disparaging remarks about other people, companies, organizations or countries; (e) trademarks or logos owned by others used without their permission; (f) images that are inconsistent with the positive image we wish to achieve.
We reserve the right to modify or reject any profile (in whole or in part) which, in our sole and absolute discretion, does not meet the above criteria.
Judging of Participant Members
Internet Voting
All members of this site are encouraged to vote for their favorite Participant Member (s). There is a limit of one (1) vote per person and per email address for each day of the contest period. Votes for each Participant Member will be tabulated and the contestant who receives the most votes for any particular month will be designated a semi-finalist. In the event a Participant Member receives the most votes for any ensuing month, the participant who received the 2nd highest number of votes that month will be designated a semi-finalist. The top 3 “vote-getters” over the duration of the contest period will also be designated as semi-finalists.
An independent panel of judges will choose 3 finalists from among the semi-finalists and said finalists will thereafter be personally interviewed to determine the winner.
Cash awarded for 2011 Contest
It is anticipated that at least 1,000 or more contestants will participate in the 2011 model search contest. If less than 1,000 participating contestants are on Focus9.com by that date we reserve the right to reduce the $50,000 cash award by a proportionate amount.
