What is Focus9.com?

The initial focus of this site is to draw attention to a line of a line of jewelry designed by Arista™ and to find exceptional models/spokesmodels for Arista’s constantly expanding line of exquisitely crafted rings, bracelets, necklaces, pendants and earrings.

Who can join Focus9?

Anyone can join this site as a “Viewing Member”. The “Participant Members,” however, are selected.

What is a Participant Member?

A Participant Member quite simply is someone whose profile is posted on this site. Participant Members are eligible to become a primary model/spokesmodel for Arista.

What is a Viewing Member?

A Viewing Member is someone who does not have a profile posted on this site. Viewing Members may view and vote on the Participant Member(s) of their choice.

Must I be a model to be a Participant Member?

No, if you’re very attractive and have a lot going for you besides your good looks we’d love to have you as a Participant Member on this site regardless of your interest in modeling.

How can I become a Participant member on Focus9?

There are two ways:
(1) We find you and ask you to join as a Participant Member; or
(2) You ask to be a Participant Member and submit your personal info and pics.

How will Arista's cover model for 2010 be selected?

The Viewing Members will vote to select the semi-finalists from among the Participant Members, one of which will be chosen each month. The top 3 “vote-getters” over the duration of the contest period will also be designated as semi-finalists. An independent panel of judges will choose 3 finalists from among the semi-finalists. Thereafter, the winner will be selected after in person interviews in Arista’s home city. Beauty and photogenic appeal will be paramount, but charm, wit and personality will also factor into the judging panel’s decision inasmuch as the chosen model will likely be asked to make some personal appearances.

How will the Arista cover model be selected for 2011?

The cover model for 2011 will likely be selected in the same manner as the 2010 cover model with the exception that the photo shoot will take place in Las Vegas during the annual JCK International Jewelry Show.

How long does it take to simply become a “viewing” member?

It’s immediate and it’s the only way you can enlarge the individual photos posted by each of the participant members and vote for the Participant Member(s) of your choice.

If we ask you to join as a participant member how long will it take for your profile to be approved?

It’ll likely take 3 or 4 days, although it could take longer. To help expedite the process we suggest you submit a number of approved photos (see rules), have a reasonably substantial bio. It’ll also assist us and speed up the process if you’ll proof read your submission for errors.

Will it take longer for your profile to be approved if you ask us rather than us asking you to be a participant member?

Yes, it may take a few days longer than it would if we had invited you to be a Participant Member.

You asked me to participate and yet my profile was denied! What gives?

We suggest that you carefully re-read the requirements for submission and then try again. If that fails then feel free to send us an e-mail.

Can I use a totally fictious or silly name?

Not if you want to be taken seriously and become a Participant Member. You can list whatever you wish on your profile page as a “last name”, but your first name must be your real name or a nickname you generally go by. If you want to go by “Bambi” or the like there are several sites that allow you to do so, but this isn’t one of them!

Can I bling out my profile page and use avatars and install videos and music?

Nope. This isn’t intended to be “your space”. If you wish to demonstrate your “clever side” do so on one of the sites that allow it.

How many photos can I submit?

Up to 12 - which should be more than enough to allow us and the Viewing Members to adequately appraise your beauty.

Must I give site management my real first and last name and real contact info?

Yes to all and, in return, we warrant not to divulge such personal info to anyone without your express written (fax, letter or email) consent.

How do I remove my profile from this site?

Well… first why would you want to remove yourself from such a select group after we have generously given you an exquisite handmade piece of jewelry?! But, if you feel you must simply go to your profile page and click on “remove profile”. Will we ask you to return the piece of jewelry we gave you? No, but we might expect you to feel guilty about your ill gotten gains for years to come!

Does Arista plan to have this contest in future years or is it merely a one-time thing?

Arista plans to have it for as long as it’s in business and, better yet, if our contest generates the response we hope it does, the winner’s cash prize will increase substantially in future years! After all we wouldn’t want you to think we’re a bunch of cheapskates continually offering a mere $50,000!

Why do you require all contestants to be at least 21?

Because even though many of the world’s top models begin modeling before that age our target market requires a certain level of maturity. Actually 21 is still a bit young, but if you (like Arista’s current cover model) can pull off an older look, we’ll consider you wise and mature beyond your years- enough so to represent Arista.

Should I have my photos taken by a professional photographer?

It might be a good idea, but if you do so you should obtain a copyright release. And please be aware that just because you may have paid a photographer to take photos of you he/she may still have retained the copyright of the image unless you included the purchase of the copyright in your agreement with the photographer.

Can I post photos taken from my web camera?

Yes, but only if they meet the requirements specified herein (800x600 pixels and 250KB size).
